This is one of the rare songs that doesn't feature the always changing and evolving chameleon voice of Hagins. The Amazing Drumming is on display here though as is Hagins' trademark layers of distorted guitars as he records and overdubs everything with the assistance of the Late Bill Krodel. Bass; Rick Carmody.

GREENHOUSE EFFECT SONG "NUMBER ONE" 1988 From The GLOBAL WARMING DEBUT CD - BMI MUSIC - ( Phil Keegan And Clark Hagins ).

Greenhouse-Effect-Songs "Number One" ( Feb 1988 ) Phil Keegan / Clark Hagins - Bmi Music. Youtube Video. from Naruto Suzuki Japan on Vimeo.

366,682 Views - Youtube Video - The Greenhouse Effect Song "Number One" was recorded in February 1988 after years of rehearsals at Bassist Rick Carmody's House in Torrance California. The swirling "Dorian" inspired guitar parts clash nicely with the echo infused Lead vocals from Clark Hagins. Guitarist Phil Keegan arranged this marvelous track - put together from years of painstaken trial and error as influenced by the Likes of Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Page and maybe even Mozart and Beethoven !! Rick Carmody's dark bass lines lock in perfectly with the heavy Keith Moon style drumming from Hagins.... and "Ted's House" was the place G.e often rehearsed at ,..  Just a three piece band - and one who strived for perfection Live in trying to pull off all of their studio songs nicely ,.. for the stage, this track was just about "always" played live and early in the set usually ,.. "In 89', we started adding more and more material to the live shit and this song got moved closer to the end of gigs I remember" says Clark "The Shark" Hagins.  - THIS WAS THE SECOND SONG following "Precarious" on G.e's debut CD "Global Warming" in Early 1988 ,."The "Dorian" riffs and tangents of 6 string mastery are certainly Trademarks of Keegan indeed !! ,.. ..... G.e. would later part ways mutually with Keegan in 1990 and become a 'new' three piece band 'fronted' suddenly by Haggins who moved from Drums up to Guitar !! Drummer Martin Silva would take over behind the Kit in the more punk rock / alternative "second phase" of the Group where Songs like "Ben is Dead" and "Star" gave way in 1991 to more polished commercial tracks like "White Black Thang" and "Brandy" in Late 1991 and "Misogynistia" ( Shes a Bitch.....And then you Live" which was recorded in Late 1992. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2HQB0mKBro
The band existed as a trio with Keegan from about 1985/86' to Sept/ Oct 1990 and did three releases - all of which are bizarre critically unique recordings of some of the "South Bays" best ever original music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2HQB0mKBro
